I was recently inspired by Modani, a furniture store which specialises in modern furnishings, to incorporate my style into styling a room using pieces of furniture which they sell. The collage above is the living room as I have decided to style it.
This is Modani’s White Phantom Sofa. The reason I chose this is because when I first went onto their website to see what their furniture was like this modern sofa was one of the first items I saw and I immediately loved it. I am a sucker for white and this couch is sleek and modern but still looks comfortable.
I really love carpets with this soft texture. The reason I chose this grey carpet, in specific is because I wanted to break away from the white after choosing a white couch.
The Scatter Cushions
In an effort to tie in the grey of the carpet with the rest of the room, I chose this grey scatter cushion. Cushions can truly make a room or a piece of furnishing that little bit more spectacular. Since I wouldn’t truly be me if I didn’t add a dash of colour to an otherwise monotone colour scheme, I found this red cushion to perk up the living room that much more and to add a bit of colour.
This is the Modani Bodo Mirror. The reason I chose a mirror with a brown wood frame in a room full of white furniture is because I have a great love for combining furniture that have different frame colours. In my own bedroom I have combined a lot of white furniture with very deep brown furniture and I love the look so I have incorporated that idea here too. I love this mirror. It’s incredibly stylish. I would place this mirror above the couch, horizontally.
No room is complete without a bookshelf for someone who loves books. I absolutely love the different size shelves on this Modani Lugano Library.
The Coffee Table
When I saw this coffee table, I thought it complemented the rest of the furnishings I had chosen really well. For that reason, it was a given that it would be included in the collage.
Decorating the Coffee Table
For on top of the coffee table, I decided that books were the best option. Since I am a book lover and I also have a love for fashion, these specific books seemed like a good idea. I absolutely love tulips as well and they tie in well with the colour scheme of the room. I would not place the vase on top of my books though. I would place the vase in the middle of the coffee table with the books slightly closer to the edge of the table and slanted on the one side of the vase of flowers.
The Colours on the Walls
For the wall colours of this room, I would definitely go for a statement wall. I would make the wall behind the couch with the mirror on the red second from the left with the other walls the colour on the far right. Alternatively, if I opted for keeping all the walls one colour, I would paint them the almost taupe colour second from the right.
Another alternative I would possibly go for is painting the wall behind the couch the colour second from the right and the rest of the walls the lightest colour on the far right.
Last but not least, the lighting. I particularly loved this chandelier from Modani when I saw it. I also thought it would complement the rest of the room really well.
Just as a side note, I do not own any of these images. The photographs of items which I mentioned were Modani products were sent to me by Modani. As for the rest of the images I used, I found them on Pinterest and I provided links to the original picture on Pinterest.
I hope that everyone enjoyed a slightly different post from usual.
